The Metaphysical Dictopedia
Bible Names Index

Scripture Prooper NamesThis dictionary supplement to The Metaphysical Dictopedia contains more than 2,500 Bible and Bible-related proper names and their meanings. It is a derivitive of "Hitchcock's New and Complete Analysis of the Holy Bible," published in the late 1800's.
The original 27 volume 'masterpiece' was arranged according to subjects.
A Note from Hitchcock: "It should be observed that there is uncertainty about the derivitive of some words in Hebrew so that some of the following names may have either of several meanings. There are also some names whose meaning, from a variety of circumstances are altogether obscure or uncertain. These are omitted from this dictionary."
Our purpose here is not to re-publish Hitchcock's Complete Analysis but to capture the names referenced in the Holy Bible, and interpretations thereof, acccording to his research. That volume is entitled:

"An Interpreting Dictionary of Scripture Proper Names.
Showing The Meaning Of Nearly All The Names Of Persons And Places In The Bible."
